In 1980, Maxine decided to free her mind and make her escape from the corporate world, and she began to dabble in art, first in watercolors, then sculpting. It didnt take her long to discover that the same skills that allowed her to visualize in her head, complex and abstract computer systems, translated easily into art. If she could see it in her head, she could build it in clay.
In 1992, Maxine decided to pursue sculpting in earnest, and in May of 1996, she opened Sharp Gallery. In addition to her workshop and living quarters, she has a showroom where she displays the works of other area artists, including painters, photographers, potters and other sculptors.
Maxine does most of her work on commission, so if you have a piece in your mind that you would like to see in real life, contact Maxine.
